Sara A. Smith holds a Doctorate in Philosophy from the Department of Education at the University of Oxford, followed by postdoctoral research at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The broad aim of her research is to gain a better understanding of technology enhanced language learning, including immersive virtual environments. Dr. Smith was awarded the 2022 Women in Leadership and Philanthropy Dr. Kathleen Moore Faculty Excellence Award, 2021 University of South Florida Excellence in Innovation Award, and was a finalist for the 2020 Cade Prize. She is Assistant Professor in ESOL/Language Education program at the University of South Florida.
