Breakthrough video-pass-through headset, MR smartglasses, advanced microdisplays and enterprise AR solutions among major announcements made at AWE USA 2019


AWE, the most essential AR and VR conference and expo according to Forbes, officially opened its doors yesterday in Silicon Valley, celebrating its 10th annual event in the USA. With nearly 7,000 attendees, over 350 speakers, and over 250 exhibitors in 100,000-square-feet expo, including a 20,000-square-feet Playground which opens today, AWE USA 2019 is showcasing the most cutting-edge AR and VR solutions ever gathered in a single location.


As part of the first day’s events, AWE hosted a press showcase which featured announcements on new mixed reality smartglasses, breakthrough video-pass-through HMDs, advanced microdisplays, additional support of world leading solutions for HoloLens, Epson Moverio and other wearables and new and upgraded enterprise solutions.

 

Highlights of major announcements made at AWE USA 2019 press event include:

 

CGTrader, the world’s largest source for licensable 3D content, announced a new Augmented Reality (AR) solution for e-Commerce, CGTrader ARsenal, which includes all solutions and services required to easily deploy AR for online stores, enabling shoppers to experience products in an immersive, interactive environment. Lance-AR, a consulting and integration company specializing in Augmented Reality (AR) enablement for the enterprise market, announced the launch of its Enterprise AR Deployment Services focused on enabling scaled Enterprise deployments today that deliver real value today and use the AR hardware and software available today. RAONTECH Inc., a leading microdisplay solution provider, demonstrated its newly developed 0.37″ 1080P LCoS microdisplay panel, RDP370F, a tiny and low-power panel which will be efficiently used for AR devices, head-mounted displays, head-up displays, and mini projectors. Learn more here.


RE’FLEKT, a Munich-based technology company that enables any business or industry to create their own in-house Augmented and Mixed Reality applications, announced that The REFLEKT ONE Ecosystem now enables Siemens customers and business units to drastically increase the speed and accuracy of AR content creation. Rokid, a Mixed Reality and Artificial Intelligence company, unveiled its latest generation of MR glasses, Rokid Vision which distinguishes itself from existing MR device rings with dual-screen with different content and 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) technology, which allows the users to experience the fully immersive mixed reality of 3D video, games, mobile work and etc by connecting Rokid Vision to their mobile devices. Scope AR, the pioneer of enterprise-class augmented reality (AR) solutions, launched an upgraded version of its highly-touted WorkLink platform. With the addition of session recording, WorkLink becomes the industry’s only AR knowledge platform to offer real-time remote support, access to AR work instructions and the ability to record sessions simultaneously in one application. With this, workers can now easily capture, retain and share knowledge like never before. Viewpointsystem, a Vienna-based technology SME, demoed VPS 19 Mixed Reality glasses with integrated Eye Tracking technology which was first announced at CES 2019 in January of this year. Designed for B2B applications, the very light and portable system uses the human eye as digital interface. Wikitude, the largest independent augmented reality platform, announced support for all leading wearable technologies and has expanded its offering from standalone devices like Hololens to a new spectrum of smart glasses that plug into compatible smartphones, such as the Epson Moverio BT-35E. Epson is now the first AR device manufacturer to partner with Wikitude to deliver the new optimized AR experience to users with tethered devices. Learn more here.
