Dr Tom Carter is widely regarded as a leader in the immersive technologies sector. He co-founded Ultraleap in 2013 having developed ultrasound technology to produce the sense of touch in mid-air during his PhD at the University of Bristol. In 2019, he successfully oversaw the acquisition of Leap Motion to add hand tracking to the company’s portfolio of technologies. Tom led technology innovation at Ultraleap under his CTO tenure until he became CEO in September 2021. He now manages the commercialisation of Ultraleap’s hand tracking and haptics products and the team of over 180 people across three continents.
