Andrea Montealegre is an Experience Designer & Researcher from Nicaragua who is passionate about the technologies of the future and the challenges they present for UX designers. She first encountered mixed reality while attending The Rochester Institute of Technology, where she created and presented projection mapping installations at galleries, conferences, and concerts. Andrea worked for GMUNK, the GFX magician behind the holographic marvels of the Disney feature film Tron, who inspired and taught her the potential of the mixed reality space. After graduation Andrea joined Leviathan, where she created more installations, museum exhibits, and mixed reality concepts. Andrea works at The Lab at Capital One (Top 25 Financial Lab 2019 by Global Financial) where she did a deep dive on how Augmented Reality can change the future of banking and is currently leading design and research for a consumer payment product.
