ADAORA expertise is media, digital and emerging technology. She helps corporations build products, teams, and services, startups grow their businesses, investors identify new opportunities, and audiences around the world understand how new tech can work. She’s also a media maker having produced award-winning non-fiction, immersive and scripted content, including documentaries, short films, virtual reality and augmented reality, having written and directed experiences for the likes of Google VR. Currently, she is the Director of Corporate Innovation at New York City’s RLab, the first City-funded hub focused on spatial computing, future interfaces, and related technologies. Prior to that, she worked with companies such as IBM, Bloomberg LLC, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges.Previously, she ran a media-tech startup, News Deeply. As a journalist, she covered some of the most compelling stories of our time from the Iraq war to Hurricane Katrina and the election of President Barack Obama for ABC News, CNN, and public radio. She's won many awards including recognition by The National Academy of Television Arts, and Sciences and the Alfred I. duPont–Columbia University Award for reporting on the Afghan war and Hurricane Katrina respectively.She is an adjunct professor at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program at the Tisch School of the Arts and on the board of NEW Inc of the New Museum. She advises the Knight Foundation Journalism 360 Challenge, SXSW Pitch, the Guggenheim Museum Global Innovation Council, and mentors at the Op’Ed Project. In 2019 she was named a juror for the Tribeca Film Festival Storyscapes (immersive storytelling competition). Adaora has produced a number of short films and documentaries including: "Girl Talk" and "Yemi's Wedding" (Imbd profile). Inc. Magazine named her among the most influential speakers in tech.  She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the UCLA School of Law. Adaora lives in Brooklyn and holds dual American and Irish citizenship which has made it easy for her to have lived on four continents, Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and North America.
