Jan-Erik Vinje is the Managing Director of the Open AR Cloud Association (OARC), a global non-profit organization advocating for and developing technologies and best practices for an open interoperable real-world spatial computing future. In 2017 in his former day-job at Norkart he helped develop a pioneering geospatially anchored AR app for the Norwegian Mapping authority, leading him to realize the need for open interoperable standards and ethical best practices in the industry. In 2018 he co-founded and became the volunteer Managing Director of OARC. He is one of 3 co-chairs of the Open Geospatial Consortium's Standards Working Group on a GeoPose encoding standard for position and orientation of any real or digital object.
