Bobby Basham
Director, Baseball Innovation Chicago Cubs

Bobby Basham is the Director, Baseball Innovation for the Chicago Cubs has been a member of the Cubs front office since 2012. He works within the baseball operations department to identify, evaluate, emerging trends, technology, and best practices across the sports landscape. Prior to this role, he worked as the Director, Player Development managing the Cubs Minor League System. Bobby is a former professional player and worked for several in the healthcare industry as a marketing manager before returning to baseball. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Richmond and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. Bobby is a judge and mentor for Stadia Ventures and has served on the Sports Innovation Lab’s Athlete Data Leadership Board, Northwestern University’s Center for Bio‐Integrated Electronics Sports Advisory Board, and USA Cricket’s High Performance and Pathways Committee, among others. He has been a speaker at various sports conferences, including twice at SXSW. He lives in San Diego with his wife Leslie and their three wonderful children.
