The annual Auggie Awards have been the most recognized AR & VR industry awards in the world since 2010. Now in their 17th year, the Auggies continue to showcase the best of the best in augmented, virtual and mixed reality.
As the XR industry grows, so too does AWE, along with the opportunity to further recognize outstanding AR/VR achievements with the Auggie Awards. 2025 saw a record number of nominations.
Winners will be presented with a prestigious Auggie Award at the Auggie Awards Ceremony, taking place this year on June 17 at AWE USA 2026 in Long Beach, California.

Educational or training solutions, whether platforms or custom projects, that help educate and train users on any subject matter.

Enterprise solutions, whether platforms (products) or custom projects, that help to solve business problems and that demonstrate an ability to improve operational efficiency, increase ROI, or add value to businesses using AR or VR. This includes tools for remote and in-person teamwork and cooperation.

Connected toy or gaming solutions that enable digital interaction with the physical world or physical interaction in the virtual world, including AR & VR games.

Smart glasses, head-mounted displays (HMD), goggles, heads-up displays (HUD), connected eyewear, and helmets.

Best use of spatial computing in healthcare for hospitals, operating rooms, medical training, diagnosis and telemedicine, patient care and home care, rehabilitation, and wellness.

A celebration and appreciation of work being done by independent XR creators, including filters and experiences going beyond art.

Input/output hardware and interaction software associated with haptics, gesture, eye-tracking, controllers, sensors, cameras, display, audio, stationary installations, real-time interaction, hand tracking, gaze, motion control, voice, bio-sensing, emotion, EEG, and EMG solutions.

Venues incorporating or defined by AR/VR experiences such as arcades, brick-and-mortar stores, theme parks and other attractions, concert and sporting venues, VR esports, pop-up installations, and cultural institutions.

The following awards will be decided and presented at the event.

Honoring the winner of the AWE USA 2026 Start up Pitch Competition. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges at the Pitch Competition and announced on June 17, 2026.

All presenting companies at AWE 2026 are automatically eligible to be nominated for this award. The winner will be selected through popular vote at the show and announced on stage on June 17, 2026.

Whether a moonshot concept or prototype, a spectacular exhibitor booth, or an incredible presentation or talk, the Awesome Award is for honoring anything (or anyone) at the event that truly stands out and impresses our judges. Other additional special recognition awards may also be handed out during the ceremony.
