As a globally minded catalyzer, Shivam has carved a niche at the crossroads of innovation, and socio-environmental sustainability. Shivam has senior leadership experience in both private and public sectors, including EY, Deloitte, and City of Vancouver, where he has led the development and execution of sustainability-driven digital and transformation strategies.
At his current role with the United Nations Environment Program, as a senior advisor for digital transformation, he is co-leading efforts to enable key systems-level shifts necessary for accelerating sustainability using digital technologies. He is working to co-develop UNEP’s digital transformation strategy for scaling up the use of digital technologies to accelerate action in addressing climate action, nature protection and pollution prevention. Currently, he is also serving as UNEP’s representative to the Coalition for Digital Environmental Sustainability (CODES) within the Secretary General’s Digital Cooperation Roadmap.
He is also an early-stage impact investor focused on supporting technology ventures that intersect rural resiliency, public health, and urban sustainability. As a yoga instructor and mindfulness coach he places empathy and compassion as core values that guide his interactions, choices, and decisions. He lives in Vancouver, Canada as his adopted home.
