Welcome to another edition of the Weekly Spatial by AWE! In addition to keeping you up-to-date on the biggest news, funding activity and announcements in immersive tech, here are three stories that caught our eye last week:

Highlights

There has been a steady stream of 'news' about the AR work going on inside Apple in the form of patent filings, leaks and rumors. This week, Apple filed to internationally trademark [AR]T, [AR]T Walk and [AR]T Lab. In addition, a new patent shows Apple's looking at recording AR/VR experiences.

Meanwhile, the unlikely trio of Lil Wayne, Claire Danes and Lana Condor played a round of VR Pictionary in what's become a regular feature on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Finally, new research suggests nostalgia is going to be a big theme in AR marketing. A new study in the Journal of Retail and Consumer Services found that nostalgia motivates consumer behavior, so prepare for some AR-enabled flashbacks from legacy brands in 2020.
