Defining Safety and Standards in XR
One of few women to be named to the National Academy of Engineers for work in XR, where she sits with Nobel Laureates, Presidents and winners of the US National Medal of Science. She was also awarded the National Science Foundation CAREER Award.

Her pioneering work in areas of XRM including simulation and VR sickness led to the adoption of safety standards by some of the leading entertainment firms worldwide and continues to be a sought after expert with research still ongoing in areas such as preventing VR and AR cyberattacks. She has served as author and editor of the Virtual Environments Handbook since 2002 overseeing work by a few existing XR Hall of Fame members.

She started Design Interactive in 1998, and has been developing XR training and operational solutions for various branches of the DoD and has overseen many projects with large commercial clients from Chevron to Procter & Gamble and more. Now her visionary work sits at the forefront of AI, XR and digital transformation. Many of her former students and collaborators have gone on to lead XR initiatives at large firms, start their own successful company or even become XR hall of famers themselves.
