Linda Jacobson
VR Evangelist and XR Advocate for Health and Inclusion
Linda Jacobson, a co-founding editor of Wired, has worked in XR since 1989, when she reported on NASA's 3D audio research. She has authored influential books (CyberArts and Garage Virtual Reality), written and produced the award-winning documentary Six Degrees of Freedom, and written patents for Xerox PARC and VR inventors such as Mark Bolas.

She co-founded Northern California's first VR user group in 1991, and toured as a motion-capture performer with world-music ensemble D'Cuckoo. In 1995, Linda became the industry's first professional VR Evangelist at Silicon Graphics, where she introduced VR to leaders including the Princess of Thailand.

Today Linda is a gerontechnologist who helps healthcare providers improve the lives of older adults through the use of immersive and smart-home tools, collaborating with tech founders and research institutions. Linda is pursuing an MS in Gerontology, is director emeritus of Virtual World Society, and is a member of IEEE Standards Association workgroup, Technology Standards for the Aging.
