AWE USA 2026
As AI wearables move from early adopters to the mainstream, one question will determine whether history views this as a passing fad or a turning point: what do people actually want from these technologies? This session will dive into insights from two national Community Forums conducted by Stanford University's Deliberative Democracy Lab in partnership with Meta, pulling back the curtain on the public's expectations of—and reservations around--next-generation AI-powered devices. The session will address sentiment around pivotal issues such as user controls and privacy for Wearables as well as the role that governments, corporations, and individuals can play in shaping norms and rules when using Wearables in different social contexts. This session will underscore the influence of informed public engagement in shaping technology policies and industry-wide best practices and provides participants with actionable guidance to leverage these findings.
