Description

Most volumetric reconstructions happen in controlled conditions. This one did not. Nathan Matsuda and Andrey Volodin take audiences behind the scenes of a joint Meta Reality Labs and Gracia project: reconstructing a live electronic rave with fog, darkness, strobes, and unpredictable lighting using Gaussian Splatting. Through this extreme case study, they explore how the industry can move toward more scalable, repeatable, and interoperable volumetric capture workflows.
