Description

I presented a Realtime Animated Interactive Drama at AWE in 2015. The concept worked. The technology wasn't ready.

A decade later, its time has come.

RAID combines motion capture, game engines, and live audience interactivity, to be performed simultaneously across the performance venue, VR, and stream. The audience doesn't just watch. They change what happens.

In this talk, I'll break down what shifted in the last ten years, why AI is making live performance more valuable (not less), and three practical use cases: whether you're in games, experiential marketing, interactive storytelling, or live entertainment.

I'll also share what we learned building the RAID -  "Compound Illusion" with Game On Montreal  -  what worked, what broke, and what surprised us.
