AWE USA 2026
Pascal Langdale is a performance director, acting coach, and creator of RAID (Real-time Animated Interactive Drama) - a live performance form that fuses motion capture, game engine technology, and multi platform audience interactivity.
With 25+ years as a lead performer in numerous AAA games including Heavy Rain (NAVGTR-nominated), Watch Dogs: Legion (CGA-nominated), and Star Wars Outlaws, Pascal brings both practitioner credibility and theoretical depth to questions of human performance in digital spaces. He is Head of Canadian Operations and Instructor for Mocap Vaults, co-author of Performing for Motion Capture (Bloomsbury, 2022), and developer of the Global Arena Psychophysical (GAP) acting technique.
Pascal first presented on an early attempt at RAID at AWE 2015 with Faster Than Night - a prototype that proved conceptually sound but a decade ahead of its infrastructure. In 2025 in collaboration with Game On Montreal, Pascal wrote and produced "Compound Illusion", a proof of concept that confirmed that the technology and the tools have caught up. With the rise of AI, live is the last scarce resource - and the audience is ready
Trained at RADA, with a specialism in nonverbal behavior, and certified as a consultant hypnotherapist, Pascal works at the intersection of performance psychology and emerging technology - exploring embodied presence as the irreducible human element in an age of synthetic media. He also coaches tech leaders and game professionals on high-stakes communication. He works from a learned understanding that words are just the things that bubble on top of motivation and human connection.
