The Immersive Supervisor: A Role Hollywood Didn't Know It Needed

Jun 17

01:40 PM - 02:05 PM
Room 103C
Entertainment & Media

Description

This talk makes the case that immersive productions fail or succeed based on a role that didn't exist five years ago: the person who bridges traditional film crews and immersive capture, managing camera placement, real-time monitoring, and preventing the kind of on-set mistakes that become unfixable in post.

Using case studies from the SNL 50th (coordinating with a live broadcast), The Faceless Lady (narrative VR with Eli Roth), and multicamera concert capture, Co-Founder and Creative Director Matthew Celia defines what this role actually is, why it matters, and what it means for the professionalization of immersive production.
