Becky K. Lane, Ph.D. is the Director of the Creative Technology Lab at Cornell University’s Center for Teaching Innovation. Her work sits at the intersection of innovation, creativity, and pedagogy, exploring how emerging technologies—particularly artificial intelligence, spatial computing, and digital storytelling—can enhance teaching, learning, and research.

She currently leads Cornell’s AI Modalities Initiative, which focuses on the design, evaluation, and governance of responsible, accessible, and pedagogically rigorous AI-mediated learning experiences across emerging modalities, including AR, VR, multimodal agents, and future interface technologies.

With a background in instructional media and a strong commitment to responsible AI adoption, Dr. Lane bridges instructional design, storytelling, and strategic technology implementation to help educators reimagine what’s possible in the classroom and beyond.
