Leah Aviva Rubin-Cadrain is a visionary creative and thought leader driving the evolution of spatial computing at the intersection of hardware, software, and human beings. With a foundation in literature and television and a career that spans agencies, platforms and technology, she has honed the craft of design thinking through emerging tech.
Most recently a top Creative Director at Meta’s Reality Labs, Leah shapes mixed-reality content across headsets and wearables—focusing on everyday use cases and tasks, reimagined and transformed. Prior to this, she led the AR innovation team at Snap Inc. (through its in-house agency, Arcadia), where she helped define AR as an essential and inspiring brand canvas: from world-first landmarker and world-mesh formats with Disney and Universal Pictures, to an awards-sweeping AI "look generator" with L'Oreal, to immersive portals with Netflix, to spatial wayfinding with LiveNation, to a new play paradigm with LEGO and Spectacles, to a long list of headline-making first-to-market launches.
Leah’s practice is rooted in human-centered design. She believes spatial experiences should feel warm, intuitive and welcoming. New technologies should feel invisible to end consumers, like they always existed—or always should have. She brings a creative lens to the trenches of cutting-edge technology development, focusing on interaction, narrative, context, and connection. Her specialty in generative-AI companions and agents brings a new dimension to XR: Characters that proactively support users, feel natural to engage with, and seamlessly solve problems so that humans have more time to do meaningful human things.
In addition to her design and product roles, Leah is an active speaker, writer and jury member in the creative tech space—helping shape how the industry thinks about what’s possible. Through her work, she helps bridge “what we can build” and “what people actually want to use,” offering real-world frameworks for immersive formats that scale. It's a perspective that's vastly underrepresented within tech companies, but fundamental to creating a future we all want to live in.
Leah also writes poetry about technology and motherhood. She lives in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY with her wife and daughter.
