Dr. Disha Sardana is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in immersive data analytics at the intersection of augmented reality, spatial computing, and scientific visualization. She holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Human-Centered Design) from Virginia Tech, where her research focused on interactive 3D data exploration using AR and spatial audio.

With over eight years of experience in data visualization, machine learning, and immersive technology, Dr. Sardana has developed AR applications for Earth observation and space weather data analysis, bringing complex datasets to life through spatial interfaces. Her work spans the full research lifecycle, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methods to improve human decision-making in data-rich environments.

An active contributor to NASA's open science mission, she serves as an Open Science Ambassador for the Transform to Open Science (TOPS) training initiative and mentors undergraduates in NASA's Student Airborne Research Program (SARP), where she teaches scientific programming and Earth science data skills. As a former fellow in the Crucible Ignitor Program (NavalX/FedTech), she has experience translating emerging lab technologies into practical, dual-use solutions.
