Steve Talkowski is a Creative Director and freelance 3D artist specializing in character design, modeling, texturing, and animation. Operating as Sketchbot Studios since 2008, he has collaborated with industry-leading companies including Apple, Google, Disney, Netflix, Warner Brothers, and The Jim Henson Company, delivering high-profile work spanning feature films, streaming series, and product launches.

With a career rooted in traditional 3D animation at Blue Sky Studios from 1994-2001, where he contributed to acclaimed projects including Ice Age, Alien Resurrection, and the Academy Award-winning short Bunny, Steve has continuously evolved his craft alongside emerging technologies. His expertise encompasses industry-standard tools including Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine, while pioneering integration of generative AI tools like Vizcom.ai and Midjourney as iterative design accelerators.

Steve’s recent work demonstrates his commitment to innovation in spatial computing and immersive experiences. He has animated high-profile product presentations for Apple’s Fall keynotes, art-directed CG set design for Netflix’s Word Party and Apple TV+ Yo Gabba Gabba reboot series, and designed stylized characters for The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa hologram concert tour. Currently, he is actively developing applications for Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 platforms, exploring the intersection of traditional 3D artistry and cutting-edge VR/AR development.

A graduate of Arizona State University with a BFA in Drawing, Steve combines fine art foundations with technical mastery, mentoring next-generation talent while continuously pushing creative boundaries in character design, real-time cinematics, and virtual production workflows.
