Dr. Ludovic Godet is Vice President and Head of R&D and Product Engineering in the Photonics Platforms Business at Applied Materials, Inc. With more than 20 years at Applied, he spearheaded the development of a large range of leading-edge materials and processing technologies, generating over 200 patents and enabling multiple new technologies, new markets and business model introductions. Most recently, his leadership has created breakthroughs in two essential photonics areas for AI: smartglass displays and co-packaged optics (CPO).

He has a Ph.D. in Material Science with specialty in Plasma and Thin Film Technology from the University of Nantes.
