Karina Márquez Caballero is a visionary Mexican-Canadian artist and a pioneer in the fusion of music and immersive technologies. Born in Mexico City and based in Montreal, QC for the past 26 years, she brings decades of stage experience — from the Mexican and International 90s rock scene alongside bands like Garbage, Café Tacuba, Molotov, and Julieta Venegas, she has been shaping the global downtempo movement of CosmoVision Records Montreal with her haunting vocals, hypnotic percussion, and musical rituals, from Mexico City to Berlin and Paris.
Graduated in music, advertising, and XR media, Karina creates performances that blend augmented reality, virtual reality, live drums , multilingual vocal improvisation, and AI generated visuals, building transformative sensory worlds. She is the founder of Kulture Intelligente, an XR platform promoting access to emerging technologies for immigrant women and minorities, presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and Festival Art Souterrain in 2024. Her work explores migration, female empowerment, and multi-cultural fusion, inviting audiences into immersive and multisensory experiences.
She is also an Innovative Technology Technician for PHI, overseeing projects such as The Infinite, L’Horizon de Khéops, Mondes Disparus, Les Impressionnistes, The Last Stronghold, Black Mirror across the US and Canada, as well as BLUR XR Experimental Theatre in Taipei and at the 2025 Venice Biennale.
