C.S.I. introduced, not only new technology, but established new ways for law enforcement and juries to interpret physical evidence. Not every innovation has had a positive impact on the investigatory process. The Minority Report added the predictive twist and the dangers for abuse that foresight can bring. The underlying technology, however, successfully inspired many tools being used by law enforcement today, including crime predicting software. The scope of this presentation is to highlight the ability of immersive technology, both augmented and virtual, to have a beneficial effect on all aspects of criminological inquiry.
