Omni-channel shopping experiences for consumers today lack the real context of the purchase decision. There is significant cognitive load on the consumer to imagine how a couch in a physical store would look in their living room, or how an image of a refrigerator would fit into their kitchen. Join Sravanth Aluru (Founder & CEO) from Avataar as he talks of how the camera has now evolved as the new home page, where consumers will browse, search & discover products in the context of their own space, and compare similar products or mix & match multiple products. Get a sneak-peek at how leading retailers today are using camera AI/CV to bridge the gap between today’s flat screen devices and tomorrow’s wearables.
Though many companies investing billions into metaverse technology are competitors, they share a common interest in creating a shared digital universe. To enable an open future where assets are able to move freely and work consistently across the entire digital universe, the metaverse needs standards that combat fragmentation and preserve openness. Hundreds of industry leaders are working to enable the transition from the development of 3D assets to metaverse assets and explore the roles open standards and open source software will play in the creation of portable, interoperable metaverse scenes and objects. Join leaders from The Khronos Group, Academy Software Foundation, and the Worldwide Web Consortium as they discuss how companies, creators, and standards developers can work together to make sure the tools required for an open metaverse are not just available, but ubiquitous and robust.

If you’re a founder, you’re probably used to Investors asking all the questions. But in this session we want to flip things around and give the power to the founders. We’ve invited 4 investors who all focus on investing in AR/VR, Spatial Computing and the Metaverse. They will have 2 minutes to pitch their own funds and the areas they’re interested in and then it’s over to you. Want their opinion on the startup you're building? Curious to get their hot take on a specific use case or opportunity? Wondering if they’re tired of defining what the Metaverse means to them? It’s up to you to ask.
The NVIDIA CloudXR SDK empowers developers to deliver highly complex applications and 3D data to low-powered VR & AR devices. We discuss what NVIDIA CloudXR is, how to get started integrating the SDK into your applications, and the benefits customers have shared during their development. We learn from Bentley Systems as they discuss how NVIDIA CloudXR introduces new ways of work while preserving and elevating existing AEC/O workflows for design and building.
Humans have been communicating and working together since the beginning of time. We smile, gesture, use our eyes, hands, and posture to communicate meaning. We come to life when we meet face-to-face. But being together face-to-face has become even harder in today's global environment. How do you replicate that experience - not the exactness of it, but the essence of it - in a fully immersive experience? What are the pros and cons of the wide array of virtual interactions including avatars, holograms, blended experiences, 3D content, AI and digital twins. In this talk, the leaders behind Webex Hologram, Elizabeth Bieniek, Director of Engineering Innovation, and Cullen Jennings, CTO/Fellow, share their insights from building the industry's first holographic collaboration system, what it's truly like to interact with holographic colleagues, and share their predictions on what the future in this space may hold for us all.
With the upcoming next-gen consumer VR headsets integrated with eye tracking, XR games are expecting huge opportunities of optimizing gamers' experience in many areas like interaction, UI, avatar, visual and graphics. Tobii and Starcade Arcade will share their experience in how to make Starblazer, a space RTS game, more intuitive and immersive, pitfalls to avoid in development and new features to expect.
Discover how brands can use Unity to build and publish real-time 3D experiences that engage their consumers on multiple platforms, whether it’s a web-based 3D product configurator or an immersive VR experience, and guide shoppers along their purchase journey. Thanks to headless integration with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, shoppers can then make their final purchase without leaving their immersive experience. See how Unity and Salesforce are evolving the e-commerce experience.
Businesses have boarded the XR bandwagon in the areas of marketing/user experience as well as employee onboarding and training, largely using asynchronous simulations or immersive experiences. Early XR adoption in university courses seems to be either from a technical skill building perspective or from an angle of exploring the possibilities of immersive technologies. Synchronous learning in VR is largely overlooked at present, yet has many untouted benefits such as the ability to recreate the magic of community, shared knowledge, and belonging, which in-person training and education offered learners for decades. Learning in VR synchronously can be a meaningful way of enhancing immersive technology adoption in academia and industry. This panel will discuss the various dimensions of integrating VR as the post-Zoom frontier in education and corporate training.
The Metaverse connects us virtually. It bridges the physical space between us so we can be together, wherever we are. This presentation illustrates our new reality in real-time by embracing immersive technologies, and telling the story of a day in the life of Sophia as she traverses the Metaverse to create meaningful memories with her friends and family and creates hyper-connective pathways to excel in her career from anywhere in the world. “MetaTr@versal: A Day in the Life” is an innovative live stage play that demonstrates the power of an embodied internet in service of humanity while illustrating the value of interoperability and open standards. This event will feature a cast of industry talent (and some surprises) as the people Sophia encounters in a day in her life. The audience will experience the show through the point of view of Sophia and come out with a vision for how they, too, can embrace the wonders of the Metaverse.
iQ3Connect and LG NOVA (LG) will present key aspects of joint applications and services for enterprises in the Metaverse. With the goal to drive real-world business transformation, the presentation will discuss challenges and solutions that enable enterprises to create, deliver and consume complex XR applications at scale in the Enterprise Metaverse.
Building digital twins of our environments is a key enabler for XR technology. In this session, we will cover a few works, which have recently been developed at InnoPeak Technology, on 3D reconstruction (building digital twins) from monocular images. We first present MonoIndoor, a self-supervised framework for training depth neural networks in indoor environments, and consolidate a set of good practices for self-supervised depth estimation. We then introduce GeoRefine, a self-supervised online depth refinement system for accurate dense mapping. Finally, we talk about PlaneMVS, a novel end-to-end method that reconstructs semantic 3D planes using multi-view stereo.
Still consumer behavior continues to change, e-commerce continues to grow and virtualization gains traction. What is the future of our malls, stores, and for that matter all Consumer Environments? Are consumers ready for completely virtual immersive realities, events, and shopping? What will become of a massive commercial real estate market that contributes $33Trillion to the US economy alone? While we are dreaming of a long-term virtual meta-reality the near-term mixed reality future is being created inside of the Built Environment. In this session, Jeremy Bergstein, Vice President of Customer Experience at Resonai, will discuss the future of malls, retail, and consumer venues, and why our the near-term meta-reality will likely be created in our Built World.

As Marty Neumeier so aptly describes, a brand is the “gut feeling” people have about your product/service. How do you ensure that your brand in the metaverse doesn’t give indigestion to your customer’s avatar? The first step is re-examining your core brand assets so that they travel well. Whether or not you have technical teams engineering your immersive presence, brands with traditional agencies, brand managers and creative staff need to make sure the building blocks of brand are reevaluated, taking a new look at their brand strategy, customer profiles, success metrics, mission, vision, values, naming conventions, even color palette. The art and practice of building brands hasn’t changed, but there are new questions your guidelines need to answer. Cynthia and Justin will walk you through what they believe are the first 10 Essential Questions, and how to uncover what your specific brand needs to evaluate.
