United States
PhD Candidate
Northeastern University

Mahsa Nasri is a PhD candidate at Ghost Lab, Northeastern University, working at the intersection of human–computer interaction, adaptive virtual reality, and physiological computing. Her research focuses on designing VR systems that sense and respond to users’ cognitive and emotional states, with a particular emphasis on eye tracking as a window into attention, mental effort, and affect. She has published peer-reviewed work on using gaze and biometric signals to build adaptive VR training systems that support learning and performance in complex environments.

Alongside her academic research, Mahsa is a creative technologist exploring how generative AI and XR can open new possibilities for art therapy, emotional regulation, and mental health experiences. Her work blends experimentation with speculative design, aiming to create immersive systems that are not only intelligent but also empathetic, expressive, and deeply human.
