Habib Noorbhai is a Professor in Health and Sports Science at North-West University, South Africa and holds a PhD in Exercise Science from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Habib has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers and presented at more than 40 national and 20 international events (including the United Nations, UNESCO, TEDx and BRICS).
Selected accolades include: winning Mr. South Africa (2017), receiving Golden Key International Honorary Membership (2018), the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence at UJ (2021), the South Africa Under-40 Award for Science and Innovation (2023) and a Fulbright Research Scholarship to MIT (2024).
His interdisciplinary research spans sports science, exercise physiology and health technologies, with a growing focus on artificial intelligence (AI), immersive technologies (XR) and movement optimisation. He has developed several innovations in sports performance and health education. Habib remains committed to using data, science and technology to drive impact in sports and health.
