Dr. Payal Ghatnekar manages Immersive Technologies Research at the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, UK. She has a Ph.D. in Persuasive Technology for Behaviour Change from Plymouth University (UK) and five years of work experience evaluating Extended Realities in Healthcare Education and Training. At Torbay Hospital, researches the implementation of extended reality-based healthcare interventions for teaching empathy, critical communication, teamwork, and anxiety and pain distraction. Her work involves evaluations of the efficacy and effectiveness of the XR technology. Before her Ph.D, she worked as a user-experience and usability consultant.
